Liuhe museum

Liuhe museum

The largest comprehensive museum in Jiangbei—a cultural landmark that offers insight into Tangyi’s 3,000-year history.
Three Major Permanent Exhibition Halls
First Floor | A Thousand Years of Tangyi, the Six Heavens Under Heaven
The Six Heavens, historically known as Tangyi, was Nanjing’s earliest recorded administrative division. It is often said that “Tangyi came first, followed by Jinling.”
Highlights:
The Museum’s Crown Jewel — The “Zhi Yi” Sword of the King of Yue from the Warring States Period
This sword was carried by the great-great-grandson of King Goujian of Yue and is the only sword belonging to a King of Yue ever unearthed in Nanjing. The blade features a gold-inlaid inscription in bird-and-insect seal script reading, “King of Yue Zhi Yi’s personal sword,” dating back over 2,400 years.
A sand table model of the ancient city of Tangyi, Shang and Zhou dynasty chime bells, and a Southern Dynasties celadon lotus-shaped vessel—over 440 cultural relics trace a complete historical timeline from ancient times to the Ming and Qing dynasties.
Second Floor | A World of Traditions, Arts of Liuhe · Intangible Cultural Heritage Old Street
A 1:1 replica of the Qing Dynasty Liuhe County Government Street, featuring an immersive, retro-style alleyway.
Showcases dozens of intangible cultural heritage practices, including pyrography, paper cutting, Yuhua stone carving, and Zhuzhen stilts; an Intangible Cultural Heritage Academy offers hands-on craft experiences.
Third Floor | Jasmine Painting Village: Culinary Delights and Stone Beauty
This area showcases Liuhe’s four major cultural and tourism IPs, perfectly complementing the cultural and creative products and culinary content you’ve compiled:
Hometown of Folk Songs: Explore the origins of the song “Jasmine Flower” (Jinniu Lake, where He Fang gathered inspiration)
Hometown of Yuhua Stones: Exhibition of premium Yuhua stones from their place of origin, along with geological science displays
Hometown of Peasant Paintings: Vibrant, rustic folk paintings, accompanied by cultural and creative merchandise
Hometown of Culinary Delights: Unique culinary traditions such as Liuhe Pork Head, Dragon Robe Soup Dumplings, and Beef Jerky in a Bowl
The museum features a cultural and creative goods store selling the “Jasmine Flower” series, Yuhua stone jewelry, and peasant painting merchandise.
